Heart beating fast with rapid, shallow breathing accompanied by few droplets of sweat from your forehead; this is probably your body's sudden reaction when you realize you have forgotten to submit an important report at work or putting it mildly, seeing your ultimate crush about to cross paths with you.


ANXIETY: “Mr. Anxious” Others might see him negatively, but he means to keep you safe.


Look at it this way, when you suddenly have a high temperature; it does not necessarily mean you are in a bad shape, your body is just raising its shield and defense as it recognizes a virus slowly entering; this sudden change is a sign that your body’s soldiers are preparing for an attack: This is how anxiety should be perceived, not a threat but initially, an "ally".


If someone says, “I love you”, your anxiety should kick in and either let you push that person closer or away. If the situation is “too depressing” and you can’t go outside to get whatever fix you need, your anxiety should kick in and activates your creative side.

Medical researchers say that when you have general anxiety attacks, you tend to be more sensitive of how others feel toward themselves and others, you get to easily notice a sudden change in your companion’s facial expression and your sense of hearing is heightened as well. Putting it on a positive note, it is indeed cool. Just make sure that when you get pass this stage, you think before you speak and assess before you act – that is how to use your “Anxiety superpower”!

5. This is not forever!


First, anxiety is treatable. You can do all the research you need, you can take medication, seek an advice from a professional, do meditation or choose natural and organic practices like breathing exercises or any sport, choose a hobby to release your emotions or alternative therapy like acupuncture. Whatever object triggered this anxiety, it would surely not stay forever. Experts advice that it is also best if you try to discuss this with your family and friends for support or someone you think who listens and will provide you the right responses you need; After all, if you think Anxiety’s bright side, this condition is quite awesome in its own way if recognized and acted upon positively.
